Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performed the National Anthem before Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals on Wednesday. They delivered an impressive an instrumental rendition on electric guitars while wearing Golden State Warriors t-shirts. (Hammett grew up in San Francisco, which makes sense. Hetfield, on the other hand hails from Los Angeles so he has a bit of explaining to do.)
The Warriors and Toronto Raptors went into game 3 tied 1-1 in the seven-game series.
