Port Orange, FL – The Port Orange City Council is expected to adopt the final millage rate, the final operating budget and the final capital budget at a special meeting this afternoon.
The final millage rate is set at 4.5254 mills per $1,000 of valuation which is just a little over 2% less than last year’s rate. The final operating budget is set at 105-million, 6-hundred-thousand dollars.
The special meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. The regular City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:30.
The regular meeting has a few grant approvals and several second readings for ordinances. Something not on the agenda is the discontinuation of the city’s participation in a Trap-Neuter-Release program.
A large number of people are expected to attend the regular meeting to express their opinion on that decision.
The T-N-R program ended last Friday. The decision to cut the program is due to budget constraints, according to the City Manager.
