Daytona Beach, FL – AAA is teaming up with Budwesier again this year to bring a safer alternative to driving impaired on the streets of Florida.
The alternative is “Tow to Go,” which is a free transportation service for drivers and their cars to get them both home or somewhere safe within a 10 mile radius. And it’s not available just for AAA, anyone can utilize the service.
It officially begins today (Wednesday 27th) and will run until 6 a.m. Sunday (December 1st).
“If you plan to party this Thanksgiving, please don’t bring the party on the road,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA. “With so many alternatives like ride-sharing programs, there’s no excuse for getting behind the wheel while impaired.”
Drivers just need to call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246. The service is free, available to both members and non-members of AAA. Two to Go is also based on the availability of AAA drivers and tow trucks during those times of high call volume. The service may not be available in rural areas or during severe weather conditions.
Since its inception in 1998, Tow to Go has removed more than 25,000 impaired drivers from roads across the Southeast and Midwest. According to Jenkins, 528 people nationwide were killed in traffic crashes during the 2017 Thanksgiving holiday weekend. 35% of those involved drunk drivers.
