Edgewater, FL – A local group, Edgewater Environmental Alliance is holding a benefit concert tomorrow to raise money for spoil island cleanups and restoration projects at Mosquito Lagoon.
Money raised will go toward repairing a pontoon boat used for cleaning, protecting and restoring the Mosquito Lagoon. The group reports that anywhere between 400 and 2000 pounds of debris is removed on any given cleanup day.
EEA member Libby Ann Higbee says having the boat up and running will allow for debris removal programs, shorebird nesting projects and educational tours.
The concert begins at noon at NoName Saloon and Grill on U.S. 1 in Edgewater. The bands or individuals playing include Raging Grannies, Christie Beu, Rambo Band, Downriver Duo, Johnny B., Walter Lee Band, Payne Brothers Band, and several other local artists.
There is also a gofundme page set up for donations for the Mosquito Lagoon Benefit.
