Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon has his sights set on returning to the moon. He has recruited some big hitting help, too. He has partnered with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Draper.
The team is developing the transportation to the moon and also the return vehicle FROM the moons surface. The New lunar lander that Blue Origin is building is called “Blue Moon”. That vehicle will take the astronauts to the surface of the moon.
Lockheed Martin is building the reusable vehicle that will return the astronauts from the moon.
Northrop Grumman will be handling what will be called the “Transfer Element”. That will bring the systems into orbit around the moon, also called the “Lunar Orbit”.
Draper is taking on the development of the decent guidance system.
Bezos said, “We could not ask for better partners”.
NASA has been tasked with a moon landing by 2024. So it looks like we may be headed back to the moon!
