Are you one of those people that needs pie on Thanksgiving? What would you do to get that pie if you didn’t have it?
One Missourian went out in search of pie at a Honey Baked Ham in Manchester. The establishment was closed for business, but for some reason the front door was unlocked. So they apparently went around the counter and grabbed two pies from the fridge and left.
However, it’s not really being considered theft, so much as an “after-hours transaction.”
You see, before this person walked out with the pies, they left $26 in cash and a note on the counter. The note read, “Happy Thanksgiving! No one was here, and we were in desperate need of pies. Left money, took pies. Thanks!”
The pies that were taken cost $11 each, so the person even left enough money to cover the tax on them.
And in the spirit of the season, the owner of the location has declined to press charges.
