If you’re going to make the call, maybe stay awake…is a lesson that one guy learned the hard way.
29-year-old Taija Russell received a message from Curtis Stokes telling her to meet him at his place at 4am August 4th. After making the trek to Woodbury, Pennsylvania, she discovered Stokes was asleep, and did not respond to her banging on the door or the text messages she was sending. Her texts included threats, such as, “U smoked,” “I see you wanna die,” and “I swear to god I hope you die.”
Fed up with his lack of response, Russell went down the road to a gas station, and bought some gasoline, matches, and a lighter and torched Stokes’s front door. The fire destroyed the home, but Stokes was able to escape out his bedroom window. He suffered some burns and smoke inhalation and had to be transported to a nearby hospital, and firefighters had to break into the house to rescue his dog.
With Stokes’s help, police were able to track Russell down on Tuesday. She’s facing several felony charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated arson, and aggravated assault.
