No sharks showed up for a Paul Stanley-less Kiss performance but that didn’t stop the band from playing a set in broad daylight, on the back of a fishing boat, in Australia, as planned.
This is only the third time the band has played without Stanley and Gene Simmons summed it up quite well when he said, “probably the most interesting gig I’ve ever done.”
As we reported when the show was announced, Adventure Bay Charters hoped to use the “low-frequency sounds of rock ‘n’ roll” to attract sharks so passengers aboard the glass-bottomed boat could see them, but according to ABC Eyre Peninsula, none turned up but that’s okay, Adventure Bay Charters owner Matt Waller said,
“What we’re doing here is playing a concert for the sharks as opposed to the sharks being entertainment for us.” Kiss are currently scheduled to resume their End of the Road farewell tour on Dec. 8 and announced their last-ever show will happen in New York City on July 17, 2021.
