Happy New Year!!!! Or first Brew review with Josh & Amelia from S.R. Perrott. We started the new year with new Beer! Sierra Nevada started a new beverage called “Strainge Beast” which is a Hard Kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink….. but Sierra Nevada added ALCOHOL!
On our first round we sampled their Blueberry, Acai & Sweet Basil. You could definitely taste the flavors on the can and it clocks in at 7% ABV. Second we tried the “Ginger, Lemon, and Hibiscus” It literally takes like someone juiced ginger and lemon and put it in a can. Delicious! This one ALSO clocks in at 7% ABV
Next round we sampled “Passion fruit, Hops and Blood Orange“. It really tasted like a passionfruit beer. We didn’t get any taste of tea at all! This one clocked in at 7% ABV as well. We finished with Sierra Nevada’s “Northern Hemisphere Wet Hop IPA” It’s a medium bodied IPA with a beautiful hoppy finish. Classic Sierra Nevada taste. Well done!
