Something called a “Murder Hornet” has arrived in the US

You read that right. An insect called the Asian giant hornet, Vespa mandarinia… nicknamed the “Murder Hornet” has made it’s way to the united States. It’s not clear HOW they got here, but there have been at least 4 sightings in Washington State and British Columbia, Canada.

These Murder Hornets pack quite the punch and their stingers are long and strong enough to penetrate bee keeper suits. These hornets are responsible for killing at least 50 people a year in Japan. They don’t normally go after humans, but they do pose a threat to the honey bees. They can destroy a hive in just a matter of hours.
