Daytona Beach, FL – One in five Volusia County high school students vape according to a study done by the Health Department. This statistic is one of the reasons for a seminar tomorrow for parents of teens that vape.
Parents can get more information on the teen vaping epidemic between 5 and 6 p.m. at the DOH-Volusia office in conference room 516C located at 1845 Holsonback Drive in Daytona Beach.
Parents will learn to identify the signs of vaping and ways to help their children quit. A mock teen bedroom complete with hidden vaping devices will be set up for parents to explore.
Other data suggests that many teens don’t think vaping is harmful with only about a third of them knowing that it’s harmful.
Call the DOH-Volusia tobacco prevention program at 386-374-0601 for more information on the seminar.
