As always, Josh from S.R. Perrott stopped by The Morning HOG studio to pay Riggs & Steve a tasty & refreshing visit. The boys got down & dirty with 2 variety packs totaling 8 different brews!! We’ll kick things off with a Bell’s Oberon Variety Pack. First up is one that we’ve had on here before; the original Bell’s Oberon with 5.8% ABV. An American wheat ale brewed with just wheat malt, hops, water, & their signature house ale yeast, Oberon has a bright orange color & is citrusy, smooth, & refreshing. Next, we have Cherry Oberon with an ABV of 5.8%. Slightly tart & fully refreshing with cherry flavor & aroma. Cherry Oberon is exclusive to the Oberon Variety Pack, giving you even more ways to get into a summer state of mind. This was Steve’s favorite. And Riggs’ favorite is the most requested beer by Bell’s fans, the sweet & spicy Mango Habanero Oberon. Also sitting at 5.8% ABV, mango juice concentrate & pure habanero powder are added to Oberon to give it a spicy & sweet/fruity flavor, playing off of the opposing yet complementary flavors of sweet & heat. The final selection is the Citrus Oberon with a hefty 7.5% ABV. Citrusy, easy drinking, & refreshing, Citrus Oberon is brewed with orange & lemon zest.
After a brief break, The Brew Review returned with a Sierra Nevada Fan Favorites Variety Pack. Beer # 1 of 4 is called Nooner Pilsner containing 5.2% ABV. Nooner is their take on the classic German-style pilsner, filled with bright & zesty whole-cone hop flavor with a crisp, dry finish. Coming in second is a style of beer you don’t see a lot with one called Flipside Red IPA featuring 6.2% ABV. Flipside is a bold yet balanced Red IPA, with enough malt depth to support huge citrusy & tropical flavors from Simcoe, Citra®, & Centennial hops. Next, we have another 6.2% ABV beer called Hop Hunter IPA. Hop Hunter uses pure, powerful hop oil — drawn directly from the lupulin inside hop cones — for an extra blast of flavor, turning this hop bounty into the ultimate IPA experience. And last but certainly not least, we’ve got Ruthless Rye IPA with a generous 6.6% ABV. Rye has been a staple grain for millennia — sought after for its stubborn resilience in the field & revered for its unique flavor. Ruthless Rye IPA combines the peppery spice of rye & bright, citrusy hops for complex flavors at once rustic & refined. That’s it for this week, folks.
