“There goes my hero,” Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian wrote on Instagram when he shared a video of his 8-year-old son, Revel, joining the Foo Fighters onstage this past weekend at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky to play “Everlong” with the band.
Video footage captured Ian backstage when Grohl introduced Revel as “one of my favorite guitar players of all time” before they busted into the Foo Fighters classic Everlong. One of the best parts though, is when Grohl gets on his knees to play face to face with Revel.
After the performance the little guitar slayer raised his fists in the air and fist bumped Pat Smear on his way offstage to dad, who yelled, “You f–king rule!” Ian shared the video with a note, “Proudest dad moment ever? How about when your son gets to join his favorite band on stage to play ‘Everlong’ in front of 40,000 people and NAILS IT! Thank you Dave, Taylor, Pat, Nate, Chris, Rami, Gus, Kerwin, Sean, Patrick, Simone and everyone else on the Foo crew for being the best!!!” Check it out on Instagram here.
